“We Hindus believe that when a person dies, Yamaraja claims his physical body (Sthula Sharira) and his mental body (Sukshma Sharira), which animates the physical body. But there is a third body – the body of subconscious memories, full of fears and resulting prejudices, known as Karana Sharira, which outlives death.
The soul migrates and manufactures body after body, and each thought we think, and each deed we do, is stored in it in fine forms, ready to spring up again and take a new shape.”
