Let’s follow the middle path which has been shown to this world by Lord Budha – who gave his first sermon “Wheel of Dhamma” in this city. The place is called ‘Sarnath’ lying at a distance of about 11 km northeast of Varanasi city.

After his enlightenment he came to Varanasi and gave his first sermon to his first 5 erstwhile friends and this sermon is known in the history as “Turning of the wheel of Law”. Visiting this historic place where now lots of temples and monasteries are situated from different Buddhist countries, will take you back in time when this area was the hub of Buddhist studies and students from across all the globe used to live here and practice Buddhism at this very place.
